In My
Humble Opinion (IMHO)
Sorry. It's all old
news on this page; I'm having trouble keeping up, so you'd do better
to check out the
Wireless Industry News Blog
Jan 2006
Some say the ROKR is doing terrible, but others say it has really
helped Motorola stay on top. So which is it? I would think
that their RAZR is what is driving their operations today.
Rarely does a day pass that I don't hear about a consumer churning
from one carrier to another because they offer the RAZR. And
keep your eyes open for the SLVR which is like a candy-bar version of
the RAZR. There's also some buzz about the PEBL, and it's a
nice-looking phone...but it's just a rounded RAZR with a
smaller screen. Why does Motorola love small screens so much?
But the idea behind the PEBL is that being rounded makes it more
natural; did you know there are no squares or rectangles in nature?
2004/2005?
Have you noticed that most of the wireless web news
these days focus on
1 of 3 things?
1. WiFi...802.11b...hotspots, home networks, how not enough people
are
signing up to surf on their laptops in public, etc.
2. Camera phones: they're breathing new life into the wireless
industry; lots of articles on the many uses of mobile cameras.
3. MOSMS or text messaging and how it's so wonderful; North America
is catching up to the rest of the world in their uses, etc.
Ummm...I have no opinions on the above. I just felt like pointing
out
that perhaps 90% of the news in the wireless web industry is on these
topics.
